A young man has been taken to hospital with arm and leg injuries after a crash in Tolworth.

The Ewell Road crash, involving a car and a white Suzuki motorbike, happened just before 8.20am today.

The man, in his early 20s, did not suffer life-threatening or life-changing injuries, a Kingston police spokesman said.

He was taken to Kingston Hospital.

Ewell Road was blocked for some time after the crash, at the crossroads with Derby Road and Egmont Road, causing tailbacks through Tolworth Broadway to the A3.

Paul Johnston says...

This is by no means the first time that that particular stretch of Ewell Road has proved dangerous. Many other roads adjoin it in a very short distance from both left and right. Some earlier accidents are logged on my blog www.surbitonforum.ne
t. I had hoped to get the problems dealt with after the 2010 election but didn't get the chance. I hope the present or future councillors for Surbiton Hill will take the matter seriously and get to grips with TfL and RBK Highways to sort the area out.
Meanwhile I hope the young man makes a speedy recovery and extend my warmest sympathy to his family.
