Councillors have welcomed the money won in the ‘Mini-Holland’ cycling scheme.
The scheme, organised by Mayor of London Boris Johnson and the Greater London Authority, will see £30million given to Enfield to encourage cycling in the area.
At tonight’s council meeting at the Civic Centre in Silver Street, all councillors were happy the borough had received the ‘Mini-Holland’ money.
Councillor Joanne Laban, who represents Town ward, was keen to ensure that people and businesses are heard properly during the consultation process.
Council leader Cllr Doug Taylor along with other members stated that this was a “wonderful opportunity” for the borough to regenerate and that the money should be spent wisely.
