Mr Blobby and Jabba the Hutt joined hundreds of parents and pupils at a West Wickham school over the weekend.

Oak Lodge Primary School in Chamberlain Crescent, which turns 60 this year, was celebrating every decade of its existence.

Around 600 people attended, including pupils between the age of five and 11, parents, staff, ex-pupils and ex-staff.

The school's business manager Claire Mackenzie said: "Because the school is 60 this year we had an event where we had lots of different exhibitions and activities in each classroom.

"Each classroom represented a decade since the 1950s.

"Also over 100 of the children put on four different shows, for each decade from the 1950s through to the 1980s.

"It was a really enjoyable day, there were lots of interesting artefacts for people to look at.

"It was a great way for the school to celebrate 60 years."
