Children will get the chance to create their own comic strips commemorating the 100th anniversary of the First World War this Easter.

Artist Karen Rubins will help children aged between eight and 12 to find out more about wartime Enfield at on Wednesday, April 16 at the Dugdale Centre in London Road, Enfield.

Sessions will run between 11am and 12.30pm and from 2pm to 3.30pm.

The centre has also opened an Enfield at War exhibition marking the centenary of the outbreak of the Great War.

The event, organised by Enfield Borough Council, is part of the Cityread London season to encourage people in London to read a book together.

Enfield has opted for two books in relation to the First World War, Louisa Young's My Dear I Wanted To Tell You, and Michael Morpurgo's Private Peaceful.
