Pupils and teachers at two Haringey high schools have been celebrating after Ofsted inspectors judged them 'outstanding’ in all categories.

The education watchdog gave Gladesmore Community School in Tottenham and Woodside High School in Wood Green its highest rating despite a new tougher inspection regime introduced last year.

Both reports were full of praise for school pupils, with Gladesmore’s “extremely polite, courteous and welcoming” pupils impressing inspectors and Woodside childrens’ “excellent attitude” singled out for plaudits.

Gladesmore headteacher Tony Hartney said: “We’re delighted that Ofsted has recognised that the children and staff here are superb.

"I’m particularly thrilled that the children have been commented on in such glowing terms.”
