A Bush Hill tennis club has received a welcome grant to help repair flood damaged sheds.
The bowls and tennis club in Abbey Road, Enfield, was granted £2,000 by the National Lottery fund and Sport England’s flood relief fund to help mend the groundsmen's sheds.
Storm damage stopped the electricity supply to the sheds and put preparations for the new bowls season at risk.
Dr Jerry Saunders, vice chairman of the club, said: “We are delighted that Sport England awarded this funding to us which will allow full preparations for the 2014 season to resume.
“As we host many county events, and have players who compete in national competitions, it is vital that our facilities are in the best possible condition in the run up to the competition season.
“This grant means that there is every chance that the courts and bowls green will be in tip-top condition for the start of the season.”
