Mourners attended the funeral of former Guardian editor Rex Pardoe yesterday.

Floral tributes to the father-of-five, who died aged 85, accompanied the cortege to his funeral held at the City of London Crematorium’s North Chapel in Aldersbrook Road, Wanstead, yesterday.

Mr Pardoe, who died on March 19, is survived by his wife, son, four daughters, 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
