A man has been ordered to pay more than £650 after admitting fly-tipping in Esher.

Tourik Agha, 38, of Uverdale Road, London, was seen unloading rubbish on common land next to Copsem Lane and was arrested on January 21.

Agha was charged with leaving controlled waste on land without a licence and later charged with fly-tipping and driving without due care and attention.

At a hearing a Staines Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, March 19, Agha was fined £150 for fly-tipping and £120 for driving without due care, along with a £20 surcharge.

He was also ordered to pay £383.43 of compensation and given three penalty points on his driving licence.

PC Peter Bazley, investigating officer, said: “I would like to thank the local resident in assisting the police and helping to bring Agha’s case to court.

“This sentence gives out a clear message and reiterates the fact that Surrey Police and Elmbridge Council will not tolerate this criminal behaviour. Robust action will be taken to bring all those concerned.”
