Parking consultation launched for Dalkeith Grove following petition
A consultation on parking around a school has been launched after campaigners gathered nearly 100 signatures in a petition.
Harrow Borough Council has launched the consultation on parking around Dalkeith Grove in Edgware after people living nearby submitted a petition last year.
Concerns were raised over the level of disruption and traffic at drop-off and pick-up times for the nearby North London Collegiate School.
As a result of the petition, the council’s Traffic and Road Safety Advisory Panel (TARSAP) launched the consultation to get the views of those living in and around the road.
The council says officers have visited the site and found the road was generally clear before 11am following the peak school time in the morning.
Also outside school peak times there are no frequent problems with congestion and dangerous driving.
The council also proposes a number of options including sections of double yellow lines on alternating sides of the road, painting keep clear markings at the pedestrian entrance of the school and extending other road markings.
People have until April 14 to have their say about possible changes to parking in the area and can do so by clicking here.
After the consultation officers will take their findings to the council's traffic advisory and road safety panel, which will make a recommendation to the relative cabinet member.
