Details of this year’s Walthamstow Big Weekender summer festival were announced today.

Under the name the Walthamstow Garden Party, festivities will take place in Lloyd Park, behind the William Morris Gallery on Forest Road, on July 26 and 27.

The full line-up is yet to be announced, but there will be two music stages, multiple performance stages, arts, crafts, food and more.

The council has commissioned the Barbican and Create London to put on the free family event.

The Big Weekender will kick off with a screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1926 silent film Blackmail at the Walthamstow Assembly Hall, where the Forest Philharmonic Orchestra will perform the score.
