A friend of the killer of British soldier Lee Rigby has admitted terrorism offences.

Ibrahim Abdullah-Hassan, 28, of Carr Road in Walthamstow, along with Shah Jalal Hussain, 31, of Cannon Street Road, in Whitechapel, previously denied publishing lectures calling for a holy war against the West.

They pleaded guilty yesterday at the Old Bailey to encouraging terrorism and disseminating terrorist material.

The pair posted a link on their website to an extremist speech on YouTube by Al Qaeda leader Anwar al-Awlaki.

Abdullah-Hassan, also known as Abu Nusaybah, was arrested after an interview on the BBC's Newsnight programme, during which he claimed his friend Michael Adebolajo had been offered a job by MI5.

Last month Adebolajo was handed a 45-year minimum term for murdering Lee Rigby in a Woolwich street in May.

The men will be sentenced on May 2.
