A Lithuanian lorry driver was given a 12-week suspended sentence and banned from driving for 30 months after being caught drink-driving near the M25's Reigate junction.
The police stopped Marcus Pilitauskas, 35, at the wheel of a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) on the M25.
They pulled the lorry over at around 1.30pm on Friday, March 14, after other drivers called in.
Three motorists travelling on the motorway's clockwise carriageway near to the Junction 8 Reigate turn-off rang the police, worried the HGV was being driven dangerously.
Officers from Surrey Police's Road's Policing Unit stopped the vehicle and gave its driver a breathalyser test.
The result gave Pilitauskas a blood-alcohol reading of 116 – more than three times the legal limit of 35.
He was arrested and later charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, and remanded.
Pilitauskas appeared at East Surrey Magistrates Court in Redhill on Saturday, March 15, and pleaded guilty.
In addition to his suspended sentence and driving ban, he was ordered to pay £80 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.
