EALING, Hammersmith and West London College is hosting an apprenticeship fair on the Acton campus on Friday, April 4, with support from Ealing Central and Acton MP Angie Bray.

Aspiring apprentices and their families will be able to talk to potential employers, gain advice on applications and find out what recruiters are looking for in an apprentice.

There will be more than 35 employers at the fair, including NHS Imperial College, Lloyds Bank and Ealing Council.

Angie Bray said: “Apprenticeships are playing a growing role in helping young people acquire the skills and experience they need to find work. The fair is an ideal opportunity for anyone in West London to talk directly to employers about what is available.”

Carla Higgins, plumbing apprentice with Hounslow Homes, said: “Before my course, I’d basically never even held a drill.

“I’ve gained quite a lot of new skills, a new one every day. I’ve now got all the basic and common skills required for the plumbing industry.”

Morgan Moron, in his third year of a set crafts apprenticeship course, helped create the set for the Harry Potter Movie Deathly Hallows Part Two.

The college works with businesses across London to provide training and support for apprenticeship programmes.
