Are you willing to open your front door to the public and share how you made your home energy efficient?

Action Surrey, supported by Elmbridge Council, wants homeowners to do just that as part of the Surrey Green Homes event.

If you have made low carbon improvements to your home by fitting solar panels, solid wall insulation and draught-proofing, you can help inspire others to do the same.

Householders who want to participate in the event, which takes place on May 17 and 18, will have to open their home for one day, provide a summary of the energy saving features within it, guide people around your home and answer questions visitors may have.

Councillor James Browne, cabinet member for housing at Elmbridge Council, said: “I’d encourage Elmbridge residents who are leading the way on making their homes eco-friendly, to participate in this year’s Surrey Green Homes event and share their experience with people thinking about following them.”

Action Surrey will provide support to households agreeing to take part.
