A driver in her 60s was left shaken after her car was hit by a bus in Sutton town centre.

North Cheam woman Christine Yates was leaving Morrison’s car park in Grove Street at 4.30pm today when a 407 bus collided with her car.

The collision caused heavy damage to the passenger side and took the front bumper off but the driver was unharmed.

The bus driver immediately pulled over to check on the driver and called the police.

The driver said: "I’m just shell shocked really.

"It just cut right across of me. I’ve only had the car since last August."

The woman was "leaving Morrison's car park" when the bus cut across her. So, since when was Morrison's car park the main road, & Grove ROAD the minor road. Last time I was there Grove Road was the priority road & right of way. Like it or not, when you pull out of that car park, the traffic already in Grove Road has right of way. But as the others say, a slow news day, & a road that does not exist. Should get some good comments on this one.

I shop in Morrisons. Pulling out the car park is a bit of a bugger. But when the lights turn red you can easily get your car out as the road (not to mention has 2/3 lanes) will be completley empty. Doesn't the 407 stop at the bus stop ACROSS the road as well by the post office? I could be completley wrong. What on earth was this driver doing?

The bus stop before the post office is for buses going towards sutton green, so they have to cross into the right hand lane when departing,So cars coming out off Morrisons have to give way to ALL traffic.

Virtually every night on my way home I see people come straight out of that car park without looking
As I carry my journey on down St Nicholas Way you see cars pulling out of ASDA and Halfords car parks
I am surprised that there are not more accidents
Bodes well for when cars will be trying to get out of the new Sainsburys

So a woman pulled out in front of a bus in a wide, one way street, and her car got damaged. Why is this even local news?
