A 23-year-old man was bitten on the cheek after stepping in to help his girlfriend, who was scratched in an attack in Weybridge.

Police are appealing for information following the incident outside Bar Noir, Heath Road, at about 2am on Sunday, March 16.

A 23-year-old woman received scratches on her cheek from the attacker and her boyfriend was bitten on his left cheek after he intervened.

Police Constable Graham Stephenson, investigating, said: “I would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the altercation between the offender and the two victims or the events surrounding it to contact officers with information.

“It is possible that those involved in the incident have spoken to others since it took place, and I would ask anyone who has obtained information to contact officers.

“Surrey Police will not tolerate antisocial behaviour of this nature and will strive to bring those responsible to justice.”

- A 30-year-old woman from Addlestone was arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on bail until April 17 while the investigation continues.
