A child dressed as a giant banana helped to promote fair trade for farmers across the planet.
Richmond Fairtrade steering group collected signatures for a petition demanding that banana farmers in developing countries are paid a fair price.
Nationally, more than 15,000 people have signed the petition, which is being forwarded to MP Vince Cable.
During Fairtrade Fortnight, St Mary’s University in Twickenham invited a Colombian producer to speak about how support from Fairtrade enabled his community to build a school.
