Flashing bunny ears will fill the streets once again as the annual midnight walk for Woking and Sam Beare Hospices graces the borough.

The walk on June 20 takes an eight-mile route around Brooklands, New Haw and West Byfleet and brings women of all ages together to raise money for the hospices.

Last year, more than 600 women walked and talked on the journey before being presented with a medal and cup of tea at the finish line at Mercedes-Benz World.

Sue Spencer, event organiser, said: “Our hospices provide specialist end of life care services to local people across the area and the Midnight Walk has proved a popular event with groups of women walking of all ages.

“Our youngest are aged just 13 and the oldest 80, and men get involved by helping with marshalling and administration, so it’s a great atmosphere on the night.”

Since the annual walk started seven years ago, £850,000 has been raised for the hospices.

Registration for the walk costs £15. To register, visit wsbhospices.co.uk/events or call 01483 881752.
