Producers targeting Walthamstow due to booming property market

This Is Local London: Linda Barker. Linda Barker.

A Walthamstow family is wanted by a TV production company to feature in a brand new property makeover show.

Producers are targeting Walthamstow because of its booming property market, as well as what they describe as the area’s interesting mix of characters.

The show, working title Linda Barker’s Makeover, will feature a design and build team led by the interior decorator and TV presenter.

“Good design needn’t cost the earth,” she said.

“A compromising budget shouldn’t ever hinder stylish design, this programme is for those people who aim to have the very best, despite tight purse strings.”

The show will demonstrate the work that can be done on a limited budget using techniques including upcycling, reclamation, salvage and looking beyond the high street.

Those interested are urged to apply by emailing buildit@redhousetv.co.uk

I find the mattress and burn-out car in the front garden look quite appealing.

I rent but my landlord's happy for me to pay my own decoration/internal work. I wonder if my budget of £200 is limited enough for them?

Indeed.
"Producers are targeting Walthamstow because of its booming property market, as well as what they describe as the area’s interesting mix of characters.-"
Or in other words, we have run out of places to apply this lazy format and are trying to find the E17 version of the Munsters family to exploit.
I suspect there will be no actual "characters" in the finished programme, just an ordinary couple getting a cheap temporary makeover on some obscure pay to view channel.
