Enfield Southgate MP David Burrowes accompanied David Cameron on his first official visit to Israel and the Palestinian territories.

The MP joined the Prime Minister as he addressed the Israeli Parliament, the Knesset, last week.

Among the delegation were fellow Conservatives James Clappison, the Hertsmere MP, Finchley and Golders Green MP Mike Freer, Hendon MP Matthew Offord and Lee Scott, who represents Ilford North.

During the visit, his first since entering office, Mr Cameron met with major players in the Middle East peace process, as well as visiting the Vashem Holocaust Museum.

The MPs were chosen to join the visit because of their links with the large number of Jewish communities in their constituencies.

Mr Burrowes said: “I was a real privilege to join the Prime Minister on his visit to Israel this week. Many of my constituents take a great interest in Israel as I have done whilst MP.

"It is in all our interests for a peaceful two-state solution to be achieved. I welcome the Prime Minister's speech which demonstrated a sincere commitment to strengthening relations between Israel and the UK.”
