Feathered friends swooped through a primary school this week and wowed pupils as part of book week.

Children at Darrell Primary School in North Sheen came face-to-face with a Bald Eagle, Harris Hawk and Peregrine Falcon on Monday, March 10.

The school ran a host of activities during book week with the theme marvellous and mythical creatures.

Alan Ames from Eagle Heights was on hand to answer the children’s questions about the birds of prey.

Surbiton and District Bird Watching Society Family Outing in Bushy Park: Sunday 23 March 2014

On Sunday 23 March 2014 one of our 60th Anniversary events will be to host a family-orientated outing in Bushy Park. This will be based around the Woodlands Gardens and we hope that members will bring along their family members also; children, grandchildren, nephews and nieces! We also want to encourage friends of members to come with their families too so that we can all enjoy the birds and wildlife that our Royal Park has to offer. The walks will be short around 45 minutes in length and will start in the morning around 9.30am, stretching into the afternoon.
