He may no longer be gracing our screens on Masterchef, but the ever-popular Michel Roux Jr will be joining his father Albert Roux to bring their two-Michelin starred cuisine to Epsom Downs this summer.

Epsom Downs Racecourse has announced that renowned French-English chefs Albert Roux and Michel Roux Jr - who this week revealed he will no longer be appearing as a judge on BBC’s Masterchef: The Professionals - are to produce a restaurant, Chex Roux on the Prince’s Lawn, at this year’s Epsom Derby.

The acclaimed father-son team are synonymous with fine dining and own and run the famous Le Gavroche restaurant in London’s Mayfair.

Chex Roux on the Prince’s Lawn will bring a bistro inspired offer to the two-day Derby festival, with an exclusive menu boasting their signature dishes.

Albert Roux said: "I am delighted to be involved with the Investec Derby as this race meeting is a major part of the British social calendar and I feel immensely proud to be showcasing our food at this prestigious event."

Michel Roux Jr took over the running of Le Gavroche in 1991 from his father Albert and gradually changed the style of cooking to his own - classic French with a lighter, modern twist.

He has been a judge on BBC's Masterchef: The Professionals since 2008, and has also fronted the BBC programmes Food and Drink and Service.

The Epsom Derby Festival will be held on June 6 and 7.  Chez Roux on the Prince’s Lawn will available for lunch during on both days.
