A charity book sale in Winchmore Hill promises to be a “book lover's dream”, according to organisers.

The fifth annual Books for Amnesty and Winchmore Hill Quakers book sale will take place at the Winchmore Hill Friends Meeting House in Church Hill on saturday, April 12 from 11pm to 3.30pm.

There will be thousands of second hand books at bargain prices, as well as homemade refreshments.

Entry to the event is free, but proceeds from the sale will be divided equally between Amnesty’s campaign for human rights and Winchmore Hill Quakers.

Stephen Cox, who is helping to organise the event, said: “The sale is a book lover's dream – all sorts of intriguing titles mostly sold for £1 or £2 a book.

“We’re grateful for offers of quality books. Call Sarah 07771 888825 in office hours.  Books need to be neat and clean – years of experience at this event tell us poor donations just don’t sell.”
