Greenwich marks World Autism Awareness Day with event in Woolwich
Woolwich will mark World Autism Awareness Day with an event in General Gordon Square next month.
There will be information and advice stalls from a range of organisations which support people with autism and their carers on April 2.
The day will run between 9.30am and 2.30pm and will include members from the National Autistic Society, Greenwich Association of Disabled People and Greenwich Carers’ Centre.
Greenwich Council cabinet member for health, adults and older people Councillor John Fahy said: “There are some excellent local organisations offering support for people with autism and their families.
“World Autism Awareness Day offers us an opportunity to bring those organisations under a single umbrella, and I do hope that local families will take the opportunity to come along and find out what’s on offer.”
