A fashion show with a difference raised more than £4,500 for Sam Beare Hospice this week.

More than 120 women enjoyed a lunch and fashion show at the Hilton hotel, Cobham, and tried to spot which outfits modelled on the catwalk were from high street stores and which were from Sam Beare Hospice shops.

The annual high street or hospice shop event, on Monday, March 10, also allowed people a sneak peek at this summer’s clothing range from Debenhams and bridal wear from Surrey Brides, Weybridge.

Brooklands College provided hair and makeup for the models and the woman who correctly guessed where the most outfits had come from won a pair of tickets to the New Victoria Theatre in Woking.

Marion Newitt, community fundraiser at Woking and Sam Beare Hospices, said: “Pam and Margaret [event organisers] have been so enthusiastic and worked so hard to making this event a success, and it is thanks to dedicated people like them that we’re able to continue delivering our services to the community.”
