Thousands of runners will take part in a half marathon to raise cash for homeless people.
Richmond’s homeless charity Spear will reap the rewards of Sunday, March 23, when the Richmond half marathon celebrates its second year and hands over £10,000 to the cause.
Organiser Richard Xerri said: “We are very happy with the result, the event has always been about helping the local charities, assisting local businesses with the people we bring into Richmond for the day and promotion of health through activity.
“With the events other nominated charities the 4,000 runners will be raising in excess of £100,000 this year.”
Runners, who raised £7,200 for the Poppy Factory last year, can choose between a half marathon of 10km route.
The races start in Old Deer Park from 8.30am and weave past Kew, Richmond, Ham House and the towpath before finishing in Old Deer Park with entertainment from a 20-strong concert band.
