The owner of an Orpington convenience store was hit over the head during an attempted robbery this morning (March 13).

Police were called to the Anbus convenience store, Station Road, at 5:30am. 

Three men attempted to force their way into the store and hit the owner of the store over the head as they did so.

Pools of blood were left scattered across the entrance.

A 55-year-old man was taken to the Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough, suffering from a head injury.

Nothing was reported as stolen.

There have been no arrests and police enquiries continue.

funny theres been burglaries in double figures around this area since xmas yet the police are knocking on peoples doors down Tubbdenden lane asking if they saw anything at 5.30am!!?? or if they have CCTV. Yet people are burgled of all there lifes possessions in this area and the police dont even put up any signs or door to door?

I feel sorry for the place as i shop there and there good helpful people.but nothing was even taken apparently?

One house down this road has been done twice since xmas alone!!! and no there not gangsters!
