A school held a Mad Hatter's tea party to raise money to provide an education for children in the developing world.

Pupils from Claremont High School Academy, in Kenton, held the event last week to raise money for the Wings of Hope Charity.

Brent North MP Barry Gardiner attended the party to show his support to pupils who raised more than £1,200.

The Wings of Hope charity aims to provide free education to poor and underprivileged children in their schools in India and Malawi.

Claremont’s fundraiser was organised as part of the charity's national social enterprise programme Wings of Hope Achievement Awards (WOHAA).

It encourages UK school pupils to develop their entrepreneurial skills and come up with their own fundraising ideas for the charity.

What a creative set of school-goers coming up with such an interesting initiative which not only gives them valuable experience in raising funds but also helps those who are less fortunate and are in developing countries.Excellent role models for other pupils to emulate. So proud of your efforts.Well done,Claremont High School Academy.

Well done Aarti and Ammi for organising a great mad hatters tea party. You have raised a lot of money by doing a number of events. The money raised is for such a good cause. You have learnt a lot of new skills and should be very proud of yourselves. Keep it up!
