A cocker spaniel and her owner won an award for agility at Crufts dog show.

Chloe and owner Lara Staplehurst, from Epsom, won the Kennel Club Novice Cup for small dogs.

Ms Staplehurst said: "Chloe is the first dog I have competed in agility with and has taken a lot of hard work to train. She loves it though and we are so pleased to have won."

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club secretary, said: "The Novice Cup is a special event and just to qualify for a Crufts final is a wonderful achievement.

"We would like to congratulate Chloe and Lara. She is such a lovely dog that clearly loves competing and has a great relationship with her handler."

Crufts took place at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham last week. For more information visit www.crufts.org.uk.
