The Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association has received a £5,000 grant from the Santander Foundation to purchase an eye-operated communication system.

Funded by the Santander Foundation, the Eye Gaze system will enable people with the disease to communicate effectively once again, by tracking eye movement to control an on-screen cursor.

Janis Parks, west London chairman at the MND Association said: “Eye Gaze is a vital piece of equipment for people with MND who otherwise would be unable to communicate with their family, friends and carers at a time when they are feeling extremely vulnerable.”
