Schoolchildren put on their dancing shoes in a surprise performance from an African music star.
Afro-beat artist Davido preformed for 250 Year 9 students at Gladesmore Community School, in Crowland Road, Tottenham, at an assembly to recognise exceptional progress by the year group.
Two students danced the ‘Skelewu’ with Davido, a new craze he created and named after producing his latest single.
The African music star then took part in a question and answer session with GCSE music students.
He then spoke about his career and inspirations before admiring the students’ own musical talents.
Tony Hartney, the school’s headteacher, said: “I was delighted that Davido agreed to perform for them and help inspire them to be ambitious and make the most of themselves.”
