A mother who has been trying to raise enough money to lay her son to rest has hit her first fundraising target.

Viv Fegan has made it her goal bury her son Ashley Jones next to his two friends, Jack Boyton and Harry Ferrand.

The three all died in a car crash in November 9, 2012, when the car they were travelling in crashed into a parked lorry on the A10 near Hoddesdon in Cheshunt. Their friend Liam Bradshaw was also in the car and suffered severe head injuries.

Ms Fegan hopes to bury her son, who was just 19 when he died, next to Jack and Harry, who were both 17.

She and her friend Danielle Prior set up the Ashley’s Wish fund raising page as she needs support in raising the money.

The aim was to reach £1,500 in 30 days which she has achieved in half that time.

Ms Prior, speaking on behalf of an overwhelmed Ms Fegan said: “Myself and Viv are over the moon and have both shed many tears from peoples kindness , we are now thinking of other fund raising ideas to raise the rest we need.”

£4,000 will need to raised in order to lay Ashley’s ashes in the Enfield Crematorium in The Great Cambridge Road.
