Traders are rallying together to turn South Harrow into a “lively part of town”.
A group of shopkeepers in Northolt Road feared the area was becoming a forgotten part of the borough, so formed the South Harrow Traders Association in August 2011.
The street is full of independent retailers - including supermarkets and gift shops. Now they are encouraging people to shop local and spread the word about what South Harrow has to offer.
Shahram Irvani, who owns Alexandra Park Estate Agents, in Northolt Road, said: “It’s a cosmopolitan area, well connected by train lines.
“This is a lively part of town but it isn’t living up to its full potential at the moment.
“We’ve got so much to offer here but trade has been terrible.”
He added: “We do lots of activities and lots of charity events. It’s such a nice area, we want shoppers to see that.”
