CCTV footage has been released of a burglar who stole tools from a garden shed.

Thomas Lerner, who lives in Walthamstow Village, posted the video on Facebook in an  attempt to trace him.

The man is seen making several visits to the garden in the Beulah Road at around 7pm on February 26.

Mr Lerner said: “We live in Walthamstow Village and a few nights ago someone broke into our shed and stole a load of tools. We caught it on camera and the guy's face is really clear.

“We just don't recognise him. We would love to catch this guy.

“Please contact the police if you know who it may be.”

Although it's good to be able to view CCTV images a good wireless intruder alarm system would have been better at preventing the burglary in the first place.

All the victim needs now is a name and address for the crook and the police may do something. I think if everyone printed a copy and posted it in their front window it would scare the tief away and reduce crime.
