A pensioner is in a critical condition after colliding with a car as he crossed a road in Carshalton yesterday afternoon.
The pedestrian, described as a 70-year-old man, was crossing Acre Lane at 4.15pm on Saturday when a black Mercedes 200 CLK collided with him.
The Mercedes driver stopped at the scene and has not been arrested.
Police are appealing for help in identifying the injured man, who is believed to have been travelling from the High Street area.
The man is white and bald and wearing glasses. He was wearing a blue Racing Green sports jacket, a blue, black and white patterned jumper, a dark blue baseball cap and Ecco walking shoes.
He was also carrying an orange Sainsbury's carrier bag.
He remains in a critical condition in hospital.
