Two men found murdered in a Leytonstone street in the early hours of yesterday morning died as a result of stab wounds, post mortems have revealed.

London Ambulance Service staff were called to Montague Road just before 1am and found the two men, one aged 21 and the other 20, stabbed to death in a car.

Post mortem examinations held at Walthamstow mortuary on Saturday afternoon showed the 21-year-old died as a result of stab wounds to the neck. The 20-year-old's cause of death was given as shock and haemorrhaging, and stab wounds to the chest.

Formal identification is yet to take place. Not all next of kin have been informed.

An incident room has opened in Barking under Detective Chief Inspector Neil Attewell from the Metropolitan Police's homicide and major crime command.

There have been no arrests at this time and enquiries continue.
