Gold medal winning students were honoured at the Houses of Parliament for their hard work.

Ahmed Ali, 18, of Harrow, and Angelo Chrishanth, 19, of Wembley both won gold awards at the 2013 WorldSkills UK competition at the end of last year.

Last week the pair, who are studying a BTEC National Diploma in IT at the College of North West London and won in the Mobile Robotics category, went to the prestigious event in Westminster.

They met fellow winners and leading representatives from the engineering industry and members of parliament.

Mr Ali said: “We all worked really hard to achieve our gold medals at the competition and it’s nice that people want to honour us for our achievements.

“It’s certainly not every day you get invited to the Houses of Parliament, so I was really proud that we got to go.”

Mr Chrishanth said: “We’d really like to thank our tutors, family and friends as everyone has been so supportive of us and it’s been really appreciated.”
