Cyclists are becoming more concerned for their safety, according to a report published today.

The study, Cycling in London – An Update, was commissioned by the London Assembly in November and received 6,333 responses.

More than two thirds of cyclists in London say they are more concerned for their safety now than six months ago.

The survey also found in excess of 80 per cent of respondents were worried about safety and 20 per cent said they now take fewer cycling journeys due to their concerns.

London Mayor, Boris Johnson, announced on Tuesday that £300m will be spent on improving safety at 33 junctions in the capital.
