A group of teens got a taste of life in politics when they spent time with a parliamentary candidate.

Paul Scully, prospective parliamentary candidate for the Conservatives in Sutton and Cheam, took a group of 18-year-olds on work experience over half term.

During their time with Mr Scully they visited Parliament and took part in a range of exercises designed to introduce the group, who were of a range of political persuasions, to politics.

Mr Scully said: "This is the first of many future programmes I want to run, with two longer programmes planned for this summer.

"My aim is to build the self confidence of participants by testing their abilities through new and interesting tasks, in an enjoyable and laid back environment.

"Being able to display a broad range of work experience is so important for young people in today’s job market."
