RESIDENTS and businesses in Hanwell have been consulted about a proposed new parking scheme for heavy goods vehicles and coaches in Trumpers Way.
The scheme, prompted by Cllr Nigel Bakhai, of Elthorne Ward, would eclipse the existing overnight ban in place throughout the borough.
If implemented, it would prevent HGVs and coaches over five tons from parking in part of Trumpers Way, between Boston Road and Belvedere Road.
The consultation was conducted when it became apparent the original ban had only a limited effect, with coaches and HGVs continuing to park in the area overnight.
Additionally, Ealing Council received a petition from people in Lambourn Close complaining about engines noise from HGVs and coaches into the early hours.
A total of 138 homes and businesses surrounding the area are currently considering the ban, and have until March 22 in which to respond.
Cllr Bakhai is hopeful that, if the scheme is approved by the council, it will benefit neighbours whose peace is under threat from the heavy vehicles.
