A junior soldier from Twickenham took part in Europe's largest military graduation parade in Yorkshire last week.

Private Morgan Wells, 18, was among the 450 junior soldiers who graduated from the Army Foundation College (AFC), based at Uniacke Barracks in Harrogate, this year.

After the parade on Thursday, February 20, Private Wells moves on to the next part of his specialist training, where he will learn how to do jobs at home and on operations.

He said: “I have learned all sorts of things at Harrogate, including horse riding and vocational skills.

“I even got to go to Lanzarote for triathlon training, which was amazing.

“My only advice would be to be prepared, be motivated, and enjoy the experience.”

Brigadier Andrew Jackson, director of recruiting and training for the Army, said: “These young soldiers can be very proud of their achievements.

“The training our junior soldiers undergo is tough, but it undoubtedly provides outstanding opportunities for development and allows people’s talents and skills to shine through.”
