A member of an over 50s centre has won a regional competition with her dazzling mosaic.
Rosemary Mickleburgh of Winchmore Hill, has won the Topps Tile Regional Award with her work known the ‘Roman Lady’.
Ms Mickleburgh attends the Ruth Winston Centre in Green Lanes, Palmers Green and said the mosaic class gives her a chance to ‘escape.’
She said: “It’s brilliant to be able to escape for a few hours every month and spend time with lovely, like-minded people, concentrating on creating a mosaic, with every need catered for by Sue. Once I start a design I find it evolves.
The Roman lady was a present for my husband, who is a fan of all things Roman, and I tried to keep the colour scheme similar to pictures of Roman mosaics. I was amazed to read the Judge’s comments and really thrilled to win First Prize - thank you, Topps Tiles.”
She collected her award from a ceremony in Chingford
