A 17-year-old man was arrested on a train at Twickenham station this morning, causing minor delays to other trains.

He was arrested at 9.14am by British Transport Police officers on suspicion of fraud by false representation.

The man has been released on street bail, which means the he will have to report to a police station at a pre-arranged time in the future.

Twitter users used the social networking website this morning to comment on the police presence at the station.

@lil_pippa said: “Another day of police in numbers at Twickenham station. Maybe you college students need to start using your oyster cards properly.”

Meanwhile, Jack Head tweeted: “Given number of police officers/ticket inspectors at the station, one might think Twickenham is expecting the arrival of a Nazi war criminal.”
