A French teacher is undertaking a double marathon challenge to raise money for a charity close to her heart.

Lillias Griffiths, head of French at Edgeborough School in Farnham, will run the Brighton Marathon on April 6, and then run from Brighton to London in time to do the London Marathon on April 13.

Miss Griffiths, from Ashtead, will run for the Anthony Nolan Trust, a charity her family have supported for a long time and one for which she has run marathons in the past.

The Anthony Nolan Trust is also the nominated charity for this year’s London Marathon.

She says that this year the double marathon will help her to ‘up her game’ in the running stakes.

As well as being a member of two running clubs, the Epsom Allsorts and the Epsom Oddballs, Miss Griffiths has run 10 marathons as well as ultra marathons and half marathons.

Miss Griffiths is aiming for a time of 3 hours 30 minutes in the Brighton Marathon and hopes this challenge will be preparation for an even more extreme one - the gruelling Marathon des Sables which takes place in the Sahara desert.
