A new community hub in Lower Edmonton has been officially opened.
Refurbishing a disused betting shop in Bounces Lane, Edmonton, the hub will be open five days a week and on Saturday mornings.
The revamp has come as part of the Big Local campaign from the National Lottery.
Deputy Mayor Ingrid Cranfield said: “This is vitally important to the area. It will make Lower Edmonton feel like more of a community and can be used by schools and many other groups.
“If you go down Montagu Road, all you can see is housing or accommodation, there is nothing to unite the area and this just what the area needed.”
£14,000 was provided through the Enfield Residents Priority Fund to refurbish the former betting shop.
As part of the lottery scheme, the area will receive £1 million over the next ten years.
