A gripping time is guaranteed for anyone at the hands of Redhill's Ben Walker.

For at the age of 27, Ben is making great strides in the world of wrestling.

Training for the last three years to be a professional wrestler with a company called BECW, run by Ben and Nicole Lawrence and operating in Croydon, Ben has stepped into the ring under trainers Bill Duffy, James Earls and Ian Loveless.

His training CV has also included such big names in British Wrestling as Doug Williams and Jonny Storm – both of them veterans of many bouts at the Harlequin in Redhill.

Ben said: “Since I joined the company, I have won several titles, including the BECW Tag Team Championships with my former Tag partner, Al Crease, also known as Hades.

“And I'm currently the ICBW Hardcore Champion.”

Ben, who has lived in Redhill all his life and is well-known locally, said: “I’ve loved wrestling for as long as I can remember, and used to imitate it as often as I could – which I do not recommend at all.”

He said: “Like most wrestlers, I'd love to make it to the big time in America, but that’s a dream only a handful have accomplished.

“My fingers are still crossed though.”

He said: “My main focus is just to work with as many different companies and people as I possibly can all around this country.

“The roar of the crowd and the feeling of walking through that curtain is an adrenalin rush that nothing can match.”

Ben said: “I live, eat and breathe for the great business that is Professional Wrestling and I will continue to do so as long as the great fans continue to come, and my body allows me to do so.”
