Twickenham Academy has lined up a new principal for September.

Current principal Nick Jones is retiring after more than four years at the head of the Percy Road secondary school in Whitton.

His role will be taken over by Tracy Ward, who will work alongside Mr Jones from April to ensure a seamless transition in September.

Mr Jones said: “Tracy Ward will continue the important work of educating Twickenham Academy students for life and I'm pleased that the school will be in such excellent hands after I retire.”

LST chief executive Steve Bolingbroke said: “We have come a long way from the old Whitton School and, while he would always say it is a team effort, it has been under his inspiring leadership that the school has continued to improve.”
