An online poll showed almost 70 per cent of readers are in favour of introducing more 20mph zones in Barnet.

The council’s task and finish group charged with assessing their effectiveness gave their findings this morning and said they were unanimous in support of the lower speed limits.

The group will recommend to the council that they are implemented outside all primary schools that apply, and residential roads where there is enough support.

And the Times Series online poll this week, which asked if you would like to see more 20mph zones in the borough, showed large number of readers agreed.

A total of 69 per cent voted ‘yes’, with 31 per cent voting ‘no’.
