Enfield Borough Council has spent more than £420,000 on eight new sweeping vehicles to clean Enfield’s streets.
The vehicles will replace the previous sweepers that were hired by the council.
Enfield Council’s cabinet member for environment, Councillor Chris Bond, said: “These new machines are multi-purpose vehicles and will enable us to do a whole range of jobs quickly and effectively.
“They’ll focus on our local shopping centres and retail centres as well as our parks and pavements and we’ll be able to use them to grit vital areas such as rail and bus stations and town centres when the icy weather hits us.”
