A women's centre threatened with closure has been given a cash boost.

Harrow Women’s Centre in Andrews Close, Harrow, has been awarded a grant of £203,696 from the Big Lottery Fund’s Reaching Communities programme.

Last year those who run the centre said they feared it would have to close due to a cut in its funding as money was running out.

The centre offers advice on legal rights, employment, child cre, welfare reform, financial matters and discrimination and also offers counselling and advice groups to women of all backgrounds.

Didn't Britain's oldest working mens club just close down as they were refused funding due being a 'mens' club?

It seems the best way to get funding in Britain is to simply say, "your open to all backgrounds", seems to always do the trick!
